Stories of the City

Ian Schlakman's Campaign for Baltimore City Council invites you to their October Fundraising event: Stories of the City. This event will feature local residents, artists, and intriguing stories from Baltimore natives. This will be a truly unique event, and you won't want to miss out.

Ian's campaign for the 12th District City Council seat has made some incredible headway these last few months. The campaigned outraised the Democratic opponent four times over. We've knocked thousands of doors, spoken to thousands of voters about their concerns for their community and the city of Baltimore, the campaign even received an endorsement from the Sierra Club of Maryland. The first time ever the Sierra Club has endorsed a Green Party Candidate.

Help us keep the progress going! Your support is extremely important and integral to our campaign, and during these final weeks until November 8th, we need it now more than ever.

So far we have received 540 individual donations averaging $35, purchase a ticket now and help us reach our goal of 1,000! Your ticket will help us to purchase the remaining materials we need to win the election.

The event is free for all to attend. If you can't donate then we ask you to please help us by volunteering for on Election Day. We even designed a ticket specifically for you. To get your volunteer ticket simply come to the event and head to our volunteer registration table.

If you can't come, you can still play a part in this historic campaign. Click the registration event and check out all the ways you can be involved even if you're on across the country. We will livestream it so you can attend virtually. The link will be posted on the Facebook event.

Light refreshments, beer, and wine will be provided to all ticket holders.

FAQs:

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This event will be pretty close to a PG-13 movie rating. Artists will be performing live and may swear or talk about difficult topics. There will be a large area to sit and talk away from the artists but the entire venue is an older refurbished warehouse so it is not at all a child proof event. If you intend to drink you will need to bring your ID.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Area 405 is a ten minute walk from the Baltimore City Amtrak Station (Baltimore Penn Station) and a ten minute walk from the University of Baltimore. It is a 15 minute walk from Baltimore's Station North Arts District. Any bus that would get you to the Baltimore Amtrak Station would make for an easy walk to the event. Most of the streets in the area have on street parking that is not time restricted. If you have any problems parking or finding the event please pull over or have a passenger call us at 410-996-4848 .

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
